Avid venue show files download templates
I have just installed ProTools 11 so im not sure why the templates are missing? Everything has installed and works perfectly. Can you please advise.. Attached Images no..?. My Grooves folder is in the Pro Tools folder, which is in the Digidesign folder.

For an upcoming project I need to create a new project each day with a common bin and folder layout, and with a bunch of imported bins from a common project.
I worked out that I could create the template project, and then manually copy and rename it, but that was a pain, so I've created It's a simple windows application. You create a template project, set up how you want each new project to start. Select that project in The Templater, type in a new project name and click 'Create Project' and bingo, a new project with everything that was in the template.
I've only briefly tested it, but it certainly seems to work as it should. If it's something you could use, feel free to download it and let me know what you think. If there's any bugs I'll try and squash them quickly, but I'm about to embark on 16 days solid of editing on a daily sports highlights show, so it could be a little while. The latest version is 1.

Remember where the Template project is. I imagine most people will always keep it in the same folder on their system, and while navigating there isn't a problem it would be cool to have it remember. When creating a new project, don't allow project names longer than 27 characters and don't allow illegal characters.
If you add an illegal character now! Although I can copy these bins into the Template Project which I have if i make any changes, i now have to remember to copy these updated bins back to my GFX Project. Not a big thing, just a suggestion. In theory, I believe, if you import a bin into the template project, it should still be in the 'Other Bins' folder in new projects.

It does. When I made my "Template" project I imported all of these hoping it would remember them in the "Other Bins" category--and it did. I used to do this when I was working on an entertainment television show.
There was no telling what type of piece I was cutting from minute to minute and it really saved me time not having to rebuild complicated layouts for the intro the pieces each time.
All the graphics, music bed and standard effects were all set to go. It really is a time saver if you can manage it.
