Open pdf avg without downloading

Jennifer Schuller I have the same situation this morning -- booted my PC, had a notification from AVG saying it was adding a safe browser feature which I did not seem to have the option to refuse and STILL cannot figure out how to find and turn off, not cool guys. I've already followed the instructions from this thread to fix it but just want to say, this has soured me on AVG pretty severely -- it's not okay to be changing file types or default programs without a clearer explanation, b explicit request to opt-in, and c the ability to opt OUT after opting in or being forced to opt in!

I had the same issue WHen I try to use these for work I need to change it ASAP. Have you followed the steps mentioned in the previous thread? Even logging on to this site to look for answers resulted in AVG viewer opening.

AVG has basicaly taken over my computer. Cant remember checking any "check box" to allow this to happen. Then I noticed my back up drive was the same. Thanks a lot AVG, just a few more hours work. Let me explain clearly, AVG removed, this is expected behaviour. As you would put it. It will open in Adobe Reader now and not Internet Explorer. Using browsers to open PDF files isn't a bad idea when you need to view the files. The above methods can be used to set any other PDF reader or editor as default too.
